I would like to express my understanding for my fellow Sikh's questions about how to react to a Christian friend who tries to convert one. I had earlier asked questions in the forum similar to the ones in the entry. I too have very zealous Christian friends who try to show that Christianity is the ONLY way to God. And I too believe that there are many paths to God. I am a 17 year old Sikh who has many friends of different religions and ethnicities. I also have friends who are atheists and/or agnostics. We do discuss religion and those who unsure of their belief in God appreciate it when I they see that even though I am religious, I do not force anything on them. I think that when God wants them to see Him, He will do so through His own ways, when they are ready. Also I most certainly do NOT judge my friends if they do not believe in God. I still love all of them. Yet when Christian friends of the same amount of religious fervor as myself talk with them, there is tension. Some religious Christians though also think that Jesus would probably not like making people of other religions uncomfortable and upset. I have realized that we should simply remain openminded and remember that God is the one to decide all things. Also remember that there are those who force their religion on others in EVERY religion. There are Sikhs in this world who believe Sikhism is the only way. There are Muslims who believe Islam is the only true path. There are Hindus who also feel that way. It is in a way universal. I, in fact, love to learn about ALL the different religions for I think it is soooo fascinating that God created soo many paths and ways to reach Him. I think that the rules and so forth in different religions were influenced by the needs of the region of the origin of a religion. I guess that since my questions about how to react to Christian friends' behavior were answered through doing paath, thinking about what the Gurus stood for, the answer I received from the forum, the teachings of my parents, and just my faith in God and what I feel He teaches me himself. Sorry for the long entry...hehehe...but I just wanted to express my understanding and share my thoughts. Thank you.

(REPLY) Sat Nam! Guru Nanak was indeed the "Guru for the Aquarian Age" and in the days and years to come, we Sikhs shall continue to "wish good to all" and recognize, as you have so wisely stated, that there are many paths to the One God. Let us pray that all people may respect and honor the spirit in each other. How fortunate we are that we have been blessed to be Sikhs in this lifetime and share the truth as our Guru has taught, yet not force anything on anyone! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Blessings with love, SP
