Wahe Guru Ji ka Khalsa
Wahe Guru Ji ki Fateh!

It is wonderful that you have decided to take Guru's Amrit. What a blessing! The panch kakkar are five, not four, and you need all five. Each of the K's has meaning and purpose and they make you feel complete and whole. The kachera is not just a reminder to control your sexual energy, it serves other purposes as well. It protects your hips and your sexual parts by creating a pocket of air that is warmed by your body. At the hip joint is the largest area in the body where bone and blood meet. There are many blood vessels at the large hip bones and that is where the calcium of the body is regulated. By keeping this area warm, the blood calcium remains properly balanced. Having a pocket of warm air within the kachera, rather than just the close covering of cotton knickers provides extra protection. I have come to love my kachera and never want to wear anything else. They are so comfortable.

All love and blessings to you in the Love of the Guru, the Light of every Sikh.

.....G
