SSA,

I had asked a question about the dasam granth...but no one responded! (its okay, i totally understand how hard it is for u guys to answer sooo many questions..but u all are doing such a wonderful job-keep it up!!:) anywayz,my qustion is...

why do we not give as much importance to the dasam granth as we do the SGGS, its a strange question i know but is there an answer...i mean guru gobind singh ji is a big hero in sikh history and i dont understand why his bani we dont read as often...is it becaseu its more for a soldier than a every day working man?

another question, is there a reson why 3 gurus's banis arn't in sggs? or did they never compose any...if so...why not...i ask just out of curiosty :}

please forgive my mistakes, i am only a beginner on this fantastic journey to meet God! thanks alot for all of ur help along the way...i appreciate it from the BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!! again thanks sooo much!!!!

Sat Siri Akaal. To my knowledge, the 3 Gurus who do not have bani in SGGS didn't write any. They were, however, custodians of the Adi Granth (what SGGS was called before 10th Guru bestowed upon it Guruship) while they were Gurus.

10th Guru did not include his own bani into SGGS. He gave the guruship to the Adi Granth, and himself wrote that it was complete. This is the first reason Sikhs don't treat Dasam Granth as guru. The second reason is that there is dispute as to what in the DG was really written by 10th Master (the DG was compiled after Guru Gobind Singh left his body). There may be other reasons. However, remember that Guru gave us his bani to recite as part of our daily nitnaym. Guru ang sang,
