Sometimes it happens that people near your surrounding start bothering you. In the sense that sometimes they make more money, sometimes they have things that are better than yours. In these type of situations human being start comparing themselves with them. Since every human story is not transparent in this world, you will never come to know how other person acquired those competitive things like how much hardship they actually seen to acquire it. You will never come to know if they are enjoying the thing to extent you think it will be enjoyable. Thing you see is that wow! other person is so lucky he got this thing and you feel bad that you don't have it and makes you sad. I will say it is not Jealous feeling, it is some other strange feeling.

Question I have for you is How Guru Granth Sahib tells us to deal/behave in this type of situation. I think "Competitive" spirit is one type of Mohh Maya in Kalyug.

Thank you.

This competitive spirit you talk about can fall under greed, ego, attachment-- 3 of the 5 primary sins cited in Siri Guru. It is a type of Moh Maya when you think about it. The answer to controlling all 5 of these is the same: meditate meditate meditate. Guru ang sang,
