hi.....i have one question which is really getting to me n i suppose other girls to...WHY CANT WE TALK TO BOYS????? i mean its not against our religion and i know thats a fact.....if in God's eyes we are all brothers and sisters then why do our parents disagree to the fact that we have male friends? i mean if we are told to find our own husbands etc then how are we supposed to do that if our parents have a fit if they find out that we have male friends! i go to mixed school where there's obviously boys so if our parents dont want us talkin to boys then why not send us to a all girls school!at this rate we might as wel be lesbians!! i understand that our parents dont want people to talk abt who there kids are going out with etc but thats all people tend to do nowadays..TALK! this is getting to me because i wanna be open with my mother and tel herwho my friends are but u know if i tel her that i hav male friends and that i talk 2 them on da fone she'l hav a fit n stop me from goin out wiv my mates! people talk

even wen they see u wiv ur brother and thats out of order!!

plz sort this out for me cuz no one else seems 2 undastand!!especially my parents!!!!

In the west, people date to eventually get married and recently, only to have sex. When the older generation sees younger people hanging out with the opposite gender, they immediately think the worst: that they are dating and going to do bad things together, regardless of whether or not it is true. It is true all over, not just with Indian parents.

You need to explain to your parents that you are just friends and nothing else. And then, this is the most important part, you must keep up your end of the bargain and be ONLY friends, nothing else, no boyfriends or girlfriends.

Maybe it will be easier if you just do school work with both girls and guys at your house with your parents and then they will see that you are just friends.
You have to gain their trust, and then you have to never break their trust, if tell your parents you are just friends, then don't ever become more than just friends, because then your parents will be right.
