Sat Nam, Changing your religion. . . What does that mean to you? If it simply means you love someone and you want to be accepted by him and his family, then think again.

Religion is not a label. It is your own deep inner relationship with yourSELF. It's really not about anyone else. Living as a Sikh has nothing to do with skin color, country of origin, gender or culture. Punjabi culture is not Sikh religion. Sikh religion is a dharma - a path of self discovery. It is neither dress nor ritual. It is not going to the temple (Gurdwara.) It is an inner state of your relationship with your Guru. It is intimate. It is powerful. It suffuses every aspect of your life and actions.

The simple answer to your question is that, yes, anyone can become a Sikh.

The deeper answer is that you cannot "become" a Sikh. If you are a Sikh, the Guru touches your heart and transforms you. Between a Sikh and her Guru is only a matter of time. Either you are His or you are not. It's really not up to you.

All Love, .....G
