Sat Sri Akal,

You said that "Abortion does not destroy "life" until the soul enters." So are you saying it is ok to have an abortion before the soul enters the body? If so, are you not preventing life by having an arbortion before the soul enters the body?

Leading on to my next question.....What is the situation with animals and in particular eggs? When does there soul enter the body? If we eat the agg before the soul enters the body then the egg is not meat is it?

And my final qustion is that where did you get the information about the soul entering the body? Is this is the guru granth sahib?

Greetings and blessings to you in the Name of God and Guru,

1.God has the power to give life and to take it away. We are merely the puppets in His play. Your concern on life or no life is very mental. After all, you could even say, 'by not having sexual intercourse one is preventing life'. God's will is above us all. Praise God and live in His 'grace', a better preoccupation.

2. The reason we do not eat animals is because we do not want to take on the karma of these creatures. We are busy enough clearing our own karmas without taking on the 8.4 million karmas of each creature we eat.

3. The Siri Guru Granth Sahib does not refer to this exactly as a statement. The Guru says that life comes in stages. The information about the soul entering the human embryo 120 days after conception is taught by Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Yogi or Yogi Bhajan. He bases all his teachings on the Siri Guru Granth Sahib and we accept this.
