WKWF,

Respected moderators,
Whenever i see someone cracking jokes on sardars, i feel really
hurt but then i can't do much about it because after all
we have to live with these people. What i want to ask is if we do not feel comfortable about people
cracking jokes on us how should we go ahead and stop them or what can we do to make them aware
that what they are doing is not fair. WKWF

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Speak up when anyone makes an offensive remark, even if it is jokingly. It is not a matter of being "fair" -- but they need to be told that making such jokes is rude and insulting to God and Guru. Do not react with anger, but politely tell them that what they are saying is rude and offensive, and you hope that they will give some thought as to the consequences of those who "slander the saints." You have to be prepared to have them not like you if you confront them, but when you say, "we have to live with these people," well, so what? Don't say anything if you are not prepared to maintain your dignity despite their dislike or anger. Blessings, SP
