Sat Sri akal..

does ego mean that a feeling of self repect we have for ourselves..
we should be humble....but even if it is not our fault...
does 'not having ego' mean being humble every time....

REPLY: Sat Nam. People sometimes mistake humility for weakness. Being humble does not mean to let yourself be humiliated. After all, God lives and breathes in you! To be truly humble is to recognize that God is the Doer, and that is very empowering! So long as we are in the physical body, we have to maintain our little ego -- but not let it rule our actions. Self-respect is not ego -- but egotistic pride is a misuse of ego. When you say something is "not our fault" - do you mean you've been wrongly blamed for something? If so, of course you should assert your innocence, that's not ego, that's simply right action. Never to feel superior nor inferior to anyone is to be humble. I hope this helps clarify your question! Blessings, SP
