I had a question about the Nine Treasures.

I looked through questions which had been asked about the nine treasures before and you answered them by saying that:
"The nine treasures include: precious metals, gems and jewels, delicious foods, training in the use of arms, beautiful clothing and various staples, trade in gold, trade in gems, mastery of fine arts, and all kinds of riches."
Why would the guru's make these the nine treasures? I thought we were supposed to not care about beautiful clothes and riches. I'm so confused!!

REPLY:
When one is absorbed in love of God and Guru one does not care about these things, but they do come to them. Guru Ji says that chasing Lakshmi (goddess of Maya) you will never catch her, but sitting in loving meditation on God, she will come to sit at your feet and serve you. Guru Ji says the nine treasures will come to you as a fact, not as a way to bribe people into meditatiting on God. It is just one of the laws of the Universe; if you lovingly meditate on God, these things will come to you (Though you won't care, as all of your love will be focused on God). It sounds confusing, but just think of it as the way things work, nothing else.
