I have a simple question. I know that the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Jee said you should not bow down to anyone but the Guru Granth Sahib. My question is, lets say you were at a Mandir or a Mosque would you bow "Matha Tehk" before the statues of the Gods in the Mandir?. I was thinking about this because what if your invited to a Hindu or Muslim marrige, how would you show respect? When non-Sikhs come to the Gurdwara usually when their invited by friends to attend a marrige ceremony or an Akhand path they usually bow before the Guru. I hope you can answer this question with a short answer. Thank you.
wahe guru ji ka khalsa wahe guru ji ki fateh
Sat Nam. Although some guests choose to bow before Siri Guru Granth Sahib, they are not required to do so. When you visit a Hindu temple or a Mosque, you can show respect by standing and folding your hands in prayer pose, and inclining your head, but you DO NOT BOW DOWN! Is that a short enough answer? blessings, SP
