Summary of Question:	Can A Sikh Girl Be Friends With A Muslim Guy???

hi,

i have a problem on my hands. i am a 16 year old girl living in Canada. I am in highschool grade 11.
THe problem that i have is i have been friends with this muslim guy since grade 6 and we are very close we think of each other has brother and sister, i can talk to him about everything we trust each other with everything. But many of the sikh guys at the school think that i have let them down by being so close the a muslim guy!!

They understand that he would never do anything to hurt me or put me into any kind of danger but they said its him or them????
and i dont know what to do i care about all of them i cant just pick one and leave the others

Sat Siri Akaal. When more folks like you worldwide are unafraid to be friends with people of other faiths, particularly those faiths that at one time caused us to suffer, we will know peace. Tell that to the boys at school who feel you are UNAVAILABLE because you are friends with a Muslim boy. I do not believe that you need to give up ANY friendship because of faith; that is not the attitude of a true Gursikh

Perhaps they could get over it by getting to know your Muslim friend. Moreover, you might suggest to them that considering ALL Muslims enemies of Sikhs is an outdated viewpoint of the 18th century. It is irrelevant to hold against Muslims TODAY the sins of their ancestors against Sikhs. Be brave. Do not stop being friends with ANYBODY just because of their faith. Your attitude about this is that of a true Gursikh, who sees God in all. Waheguru!
