(REPLY) Sat Nam. PLEASE do a search on the Youth Forum and read all the many, many, many postings about the importance of keeping hair! Hair is God's gift to us. I don't know what you think the Sikh religion is, but in my experience, it provides the best guidelines for living life to the fullest, happily, and according to God's will. There is a purpose to life, and until and unless we are making efforts to achieve our highest purpose we are wasting our time. The Sikh religion has a code of conduct based on the awareness that each breath is God's gift, and we live only so long as God continue to breathe in us. All things come from God, and all things shall return to God - including each of us. We chant God's Name so that we establish a relationship NOW! You may wonder what that has to do with cutting your hair, well, it has a lot to do with it! Showing respect for the way God created you is one aspect of living righteously, and establishing the reverence and respect for the One who created you! Please read up on the various topics on this website, and learn more about the religion you were privileged to be born intoo! Blessings, SP.
