waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh!

i just wanted to post something about a question that was asked earlier from a central american who is not sikh and is "desperately in love" with a sikh girl who is soon taking amrit. I did not agree with the reply given to him, as it basically gives the gist that it's ok for these two people to be together and it really isn't. like the reply said they should both be on the same path, and that's all there is to it. if this guy is willing to learn enough and take amrit, then they can be together, but the reply implies that they should be on the same path, but not necessarily. it is true that when you get married, you should both be amritdhari......
just something i thought might be important

Whether a person is an Amritdhari Sikh and marries one or not is really up to the consciousnesses to the people involved. I have never read in the Rehit that one is required to marry an Amritdhari Sikh if they are already one. This is really up to the couple. Becoming an Amritdhari Sikh is a very personal decision. In my opinion, none of us have the right to dictate something like this. If you believe so strongly about this, feel free to become an Amritdhari Sikh and marry one yourself as well. Hostility, misunderstandings, violance and even wars are created because in our self-righteousness, we judge someone else's religious convictions. This is the Age of Aquarius, a time for mutual acceptance and understanding. In His Light, GTKK
