Sat Sri Akal,

I was reading Saloks of Fareed ji(starting on page 1377 of SGGS) and I got confused when I saw Mehl 3. What does that mean? Does that mean some of the saloks were written by Guru Amardas ji? If they were written by Guru Amardas ji then why are they with Saloks of Fareed ji? I am a bit confused so can you help me?

Sat Siri Akaal Ji. This kind of thing happens periodically throughout SGGS. I have seen 2nd and 3rd Guru bani in sections otherwise labeled 4th Guru. In the case you cite above, what that means is the the salok/sutra after "M3" is indeed by 3rd Guru Amardas. Guru Arjun probably included 3rd Guru's salok at that point because it thematically related to the previous salok(s) by Sheik Fareed, or indeed it may have EXPLAINED the previous salok(s). Sheik Fareed wrote in 1173, so there is no way 3rd Guru and the Sheik got together on bani.
