(REPLY) Sat Nam. Taking Amrit is like being "reborn." It gives you a second chance to live your life in grace and dignity. In other words, you are given the blessing and support of your father, Guru Gobind Singh, to start over. If you were already perfect, you wouldn't need any help! If you are willing to commit to making your best effort, and you sincerely with your heart and soul want to live as Khalsa, then taking Amrit will help you keep that commitment.SP
