(REPLY) sat nam. Interesting that you should ask Allah to bless us! thank you, It's OK with me, I'm just curious, however, at your using a Name for God from the Muslim tradition! Anyway, as for the best time for simran, by now that should be common knowledge if you've been reading the responses on this site, I.E. the most effective time to meditate on God's Name is in the Amrit Vela, (early morning, between 4 and 7 am, before sunrise.) as to how to chant Whahe Guru, one simple way is to break the syllables into three parts: Waa Hay G'roo and inhale deeply after you say it each time. Synchronizing the breath with mantra is the most effective procedure. Try to spend at least 31 minutes every morning or one hour (ideally your total "sadhana' -- spritual practice would last for 2 1/2 hours, including chanting and then Gurdwara, and singing Gurbani Kirtan, and taking a hukam after the Ardas.) Also, there are Sadhana CD's and tapes with the mantra "Wahe Guru Jio" as the sixth in a series of seven that many of us do as a daily practice. These musical versions of mantra make it much easier to chant, and are effective. Best wishes. May God and Guru bless you to remember the Holy Nam with every breath. From the daily practice of simran, linked with the breath, that becomes habitual, and easier to remember during the day! Consistency of practice is extremely important. And taking "ishnan" - a cold shower before meditating will make it easier, because your nervous system will be tuned up. And, many of us also practice Kundalini Yoga for about 30 minutes before chanting, that, like tuning a musical instrument, makes us more ready for the meditation. SP
