Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa - Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

First of all I want to Congratulate Sikhnet for doing this wonderful job of helping people and trying to solve their problems. Its really helpful.

My problem is that I am not able to understand Almighty's wish. I want to get closer to Waheguru but I feel that I'm going far away from Him. I've made mistakes by breaking Amrit rules and many more which I probably don't know myself.

I know that Almighty always forgives His children and that He loves everyone. I can always feel Waheguru's love when He makes me remember Him and I feel that I'm close to Him, but I am not able to do path regularly, so I feel that its my punishment for my sins.

I personally feel that I see improvement in myself when I am in Sangat but now I'm in such a situation that I don't get Sangat. Thats why I am almost ruining my days crying over myself and my bad luck and I am creating problems for my family by not concentrating on my studies and not fulfilling their expectations.

Please tell me if I'm thinking wrong or what needs to be changed. I only want to follow what Waheguru tells us to do living in this world and doing the necessary worldly things.

Above all everything happens in His Hukam, Please pray that Waheguru grants me peace and endless love for Him everyday and throughout my life.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. May your prayer be answered! I would suggest that you stop feeling sorry for yourself, and make a decision to live as good and pure a life as you possibly can. You can help yourself a lot by making sure that you read Japji Sahib first thing in the morning and hopefully the other banis as best you can, because these sacred words will connect you over and over again with your soul, which gets buried underneath your emotions and your thoughts. You seem to understand that Wahe Guru is ALWAYS with you, the point is that we are all struggling to remember that! You are not alone. A very beautiful, helpful mantra to repeat as many times a day as you can, walking down the street, driving in a car, in whatever situation : "And Sang Wahe Guru" -- because it's true! When anyone is depressed and unhappy, one way to get out of it is to find someone else to help in some way! Again, I have to say, stop feeling sorry for yourself. If you truly want to stop suffering, you have to give up feeling like a victim. You need to think about the great blessing that you receive every time you inhale -- it is proof positive that God lives in you! Now, make the world a better place for your having lived and breated in it! Yes, having a sangat is great support, but you are never truly alone, there's always God and Guru and you! Just keep reminding yourself, and try to think of all your endeavors, your studies, for instances, as offerings to God. Even if you're scrubbing a floor, or doing your laundry (which you probably never do!) if these acts are offered in the spirit of devotion, they have spiritual merit, and will uplift you soul. And, sing! Get some Gurbani Kirtan CD's and listen over night and during the day sing along! May God and Guru bless you in all ways, always. SP
