Summary of Question:Concept Of Guru

Fateh,

I have a muslim friend, he told me that the Guru Granth Saheb is composed of the words of a human(s), not a direct revelation of GOD, also, in Islam, I have read that the belief is that no person should be worshipped, only Allah, as the creator is different from the creation, and the creation is flawed in comparison. Therefore, Idol worship is not accepted in Islam. Therefore, are the Gurus humans, who are prophets like mohammad, if so, why do we worship them and the granth saheb?, why do we bow to them?, isnt the fundamental purpose of religion to worship 'one' god?, if we all have god within us, then why dont we worship exsistence?, why in particular certain enlightened gurus?
Please answer soon.

Fateh.

The Gurus guide us to the God within us. They gave us a rehit by which to live and excl in life. We don't "worship" the Gurus. We only worship God. We bow to those teachings with gratitude and humility. We bow to their humble service to us and to their sacrifice. We do only worship the One God. The Gurus gave us the Naad to experience God within us. They were very enlightened beings and we respect and honor them for guiding us to that Light...but not worship. I hope this answers your questins. GTKK
