Please Forgive me

Why is that people keeping asking same foolish questions like. Is it ok to eat meat? or is ok if I can shave or wax my legs this time?, Or Why cant I Marry her or him? These questions have been answered about 1000 times. If you want to eat meat then go ahead, but listen to your heart and not your mind. If your mind is worried about what others will think then go ahead cut your hair, but be aware you will be going away from the Guru. Your happiness will depart. This site is great keep up the good work.

Sat Sri Akal,

I know this question has been replied to already and please forgive me if I offend anyone, but I need to reply to this.

I can see your frustration, but the questions asked are not foolish. Sometimes people need to ask the questions themselves and get a personal response to feel that the question has been answered. Sometimes people don't search through for previous questions and answers, that is true, but that doesn't make the question any less valid.

Think of it this way, when you are in math class and don't understand a problem even though everyone else in the class does, you can raise your hand and the teacher will go over it again. If you still don't understand the problem, the teacher can move on with the class but tell you to come back after class for some personal assistance. Does that make you foolish? No. It just means you need more help. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. If I personally do not ask Waheguru for help in almost everything I do, then I could not live normally. Not only is asking for help very important in understanding math, other subjects, the world and Sikhism, giving help when asked is one of the single most important things a Sikh or anyone can do.

This is actually a lesson in being humble. Just because the question has been asked a million times before, do not put off answering that question. Sometimes in a forum setting like this it is easier to answer by telling them to do a search because answering questions takes a lot of time and thought!

Here's something to think about about humbleness. Guru Gobind Singh Ji, like all the Guru Jis before him, wrote verse after verse of paath, totally as much as the Guru Granth Sahib himself. He was a supremely attained person, a part of the Waheguru, or Waheguru himself. Yet, there is not pauri, no shabad, not even a line in the Guru Granth Sahib written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Why not? It is because he was humble. The final draft of the Guru Granth Sahib was written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself FROM MEMORY! He knew every word, every matra, every punctuation point from memory. Yet he did not include any of his own writtings in it, even though he knew that millions of people would read it everyday and remember who wrote it. That is being humble.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,
HSD
