Fateh

i have a question regarding how the world was started. I am taking this religious studies class where we discuss about the cosmogany myths and Eschatalogy myths " the beginning of the world and the end of the world". I wanted to knoe wat does our Gurus said abt the beginning, how the world came into being or the end of the world. Is there anyhwere it is described within our scriptures "Guru Granth Sahib" about these topics? Do we believe in evolution. i knoe that Guru Gobind Singh ji described abt the time "the end of the world" but i dont knoe much abt it.
thanx

(REPLY) Sat Nam. I recall finding a passage in Siri Guru Granth Sahib which said that "God spoke, and the whole world came into being." In other words, out of the VIBRATION of the mighty Infinite Ocean of consciousness, shapes and forms emerged. I don't know the page to reference, but I know it's there. Similarly, if you read Japji Sahib, Guru Nanak very directly talks about God creating the universes and spheres. As for evolution, well, I can't give a scholarly answer, but basically we are all evolving even now! Good luck in your research, perhaps some other reader can offer more specific response. SP
