Summary of Question:	When Am I Ready To Take Amrit?

I'm not exactly young but I think I may be in the same category as my friends here who are just discovering their faith. After almost a year of study on my own, I have come to realize that Sikhism speaks to my spirit as no other way has, and that there is no word that is more true than the word of the Guru. What must I do to be considered for Amrit and to become part of a congregation of other believers-especially those who don't mind a whole bundle of questions from the new kid in town.

Sat Siri Akaal. Find a gurdwara congregation and sangat, because part of being Sikh is being connected to a Sangat. The ministers of the gurdwara/sangat can advise you on preparing for Amrit. You can also go to the Sikh Dharma manual on this site at: http://www.sikhnet.com/sikhism.

You are as ready for Amrit as you feel you are. No one can make that determination for you, but they can advise you.
