Waheguru ji ka khalsa

Wahegur ji ki fateh

Sometimes, my mum and sis eats my leftovers but I always refuse eating theirs. I sometimes eat my little brother's roti when it's not joothe. I'm the only vegetarian in my family. So when my family are eating meat, I take the first bits of everything placed on the table before it becomes jootha. Am I doing right? I've always known that an amritarian shouldn't eat others jootha especially if they're not amritarian. I sometimes get scolded by my aunt or grandma when my relatives' small children come over and they share their chips with me and I find myself refusing. I feel bad. Also when I'm eating something they peek at me with their innocent faces, so I give them what I'm eating which is my jootha. Am I doing any good? I would really appreciate your reply.

Dear one,
You are very kind and careful. I am a vegetarian and I know that sharing a table with meat eaters eating meat doea have me not wanting to share with them. The understanding of that rotting flesh being consumed is repulsive. This is natural.

Wanting people and family members to be clean in the washing of their hands and sharing or not sharing your chips etc is your choice. You have a right to your preferences. There does not need to be a jootha law to justify your prefernces.
I do not know anything about laws of Jooth. But I do know that while my husband and I are both vegetarian, he does not like me sharing food from his plate whereas I do not mind.

Please feel OK with having your standard and let your family members know what is OK for you and what is not.

Blessings,
SKKK
