Summary of Question:Re: Shaving Of The Beard - A Discussion

I think what we might not all realise the 3HO community is not that different from the others. I have talked with several of my non-Sikh frineds that belong to other paths and they have all said that church groups, temple groups, all alike gossip, judge and at the same time hope and try to encourage the best for the youth. Of course in each case the best is what they are in. I don't think
I could be proud of who I was if I did not believe in it and in doing that yes, I can say this is the best thing out there - for me.

I think each person has a way of communicating. I think for Guru Bachan Singh to call Sahib at all was only saying he cared about him. He has expericed outside of Sikhism and obviously was not satisfied. He may have been harsh with comparing it, but that's his way.

Do we honestly think people are just out to ruin our lives. I mean come on, are we victims? My grandparents kicked my mother out on the street at 16! They thought what they had given her was the best thing and their reaction to her finding something different was extreme. Some of our parents have done that to us and there is obvious anger and confusion. Have some compassion from where
they came from. Can't we solve this?

I think we all are looking for acceptance. To be able to accept ourselves is the most important thing. It seems there is a constant underlying anger about what others think.

Anyway, as much as I like debating. This subject could go on forever and there is so much more that we could be discussing and sharing with eachother.

Thanks for writing "K2". It's nice to hear from you after so long. SP
