Dear Sikhnet visitor,

The comment you quoted disturbs me as well as it is contrary to the teachings of Sikhism. The Guru teaches us that all beings are created by God, of God, and to have compassion for everything is this creation. It is not okay to abuse anyone by the Sikh philosiphy, as we are all God and equal in the eyes of God. The comment below reflects cultural stigmas often found in parts of the world where Caste is prevellant. Caste is as system of descrimination strongly opposed in Sikhism. If you can tell me where you found this comment, I would like to respond to the person who wrote it as well.
Sikhs are not Hindus. Sikhism began with the teaching of Guru Nanak over 500 years ago, who taught that there is one God, within us and surrounding us and to find God through wholeheartedly loving God and God's creation. Guru Nanak opposed Hindu and Muslim religious rituals of the time, saying that God is found through love not rituals and intellectualism. He also opposed the prevailing Caste system of the time, preaching that all beings are creatures of God and part of God's beautiful creation.

Ok I just saw something that disturbed me about a question that was asked.
Being a Non- Skikh I was wondering if there is a difference between non and skikh...
~~~"And also could you tell me if it is against our relgion to go to a prostitution for sex. (these type of women cannot be our sisters, mums or daughters can they??) Please could you rely as soon as possible."~~~
Why would not these women not be considered your sisters, moms or daughters? and if so is it ok to abuse/use them as you see fit?
Skikhs are indian hindus? is this correct?
All letters can be writen to me
thank you
damien kim
