Here are some facts about Bandi Chhode Diwas on 25/10/2003 incident at the Sydney Gurdwara

1. Head Giani S.Janak Singh ji performed kirtan till 7.25PM.

2. Bhai Satnam Singh ji and his jatha who are temperarey employed, performed kirtan till 8PM.

3. Giani Gurdev Singh is ex head granthi of the Gurdwara who performed as head granthi and hajoori ragi for about 9 years. The family who took the langar sewa on the day made a request to the committee that they wanted him to perform kirtan. In order to honour request of the sangat, he was given time to perform kirtan from 8PM to 8.20PM. There is no evidence till today that he was sacked or was charged with any sort of charges like theft, propaganda, playing politics, unorderly conduct, threatening any members or deceiving members of community. All above charges are part of a propaganda of ex committee members who managed the Gurdwara for more than a decade. These are same people who selected and employed him, organised residency for him, took blessings from him and in Jan 03 refused to renew his contract of employment without giving any reason.

4. Giani Manmohan Singh ji were specially invited jatha on the day. He is not a head granthi of the Gurdwara, as written by the writer. He was allocated time to perform kirtan after Giani Gurdev singh ji. He performed very well and no body stopped him.

There might be a mis understanding when Giani Gurdev Singh ji was called second time to perform kirtan. Due to agitation of 30 people in the Darbar Sahib, there was lot of noise and it is possible that committee could not take care of Giani Manmohan Singh ji.

However, this elegation is totally false that he was stopped to perform kirtan.

If he was disrespected by any of committee members he can identify in writing to the committee, so that appropriate action should take place against the committee member.

Calling police was enforced by the agitating people, as in Australia no one can take law in their own hands. In order to control emotions it was essential at that time.

We appreciate your participation as in coming years you have to manage the Gurdwaras.
