Summary of Question:Shabad - Aad Gurey Nameh

That said, no magic can touch you if you consciously invoke the Gurus' protection. Close your eyes and chant strongly and clearly: "Aad Guray Namay, Jugaad Guray Namay, Sat Guray Namay, Siri Gurudevay Namay" slowly three times.

As you chant envision each of the first 4 Gurus surrounding you. See Guru Nanak Dev Ji above you and on your right with Aad Guray Namay, Guru Angad Dev Ji behind you with Jugaad Guray Namay, Guru Amar Das Ji on your left with Sat Guray Namay and Guru Ram Das Ji in front of you with Siri Gurudevay Namay. That's it. Then put your forehead down and stay like that for 31 minutes.

My question is if this should be done at a particular time of the day i.e. amritvela? And how many times shall be done?

Sat Nam,
Amrit Vela is always the best time but it is better to do it at other times than not to do at all. It is OK to have a spiritual practice that consists of meditations any time of day. If you have meditated in the Amrit Vela you would know how magical that time is and how much stronger all your prayers and meditations are at that time. We always encourage people to get up early to experience that magic and have it as part of their life but it is really between you and you to decide when to do it.
