I have always been a firm believer of gurbani, and path only, and being born and raised here, i've never had a chance to encounter the 'superstitions' of india. However, my in-laws have come from india just a while back, and they have made me wonder about some things. My husband's cousin passed away many years ago, he was only 20 when he was murdered. Our family in India now claim that his spirit has possessed another girl cousin of my hubby's. They claim that she is usually normal, but when she is possessed, she gets an outrageous amount of strength, and she talks and behaves in the same manner that the deceased cousin did. I don't know what to make of that. They have taken her to many 'saints' who can supposedly cure her, but none have been successful. they have also taken her for medical help, but that also did not help. even though i completely believe in God, all this talk has really shaken me up, and honestly, I am pretty freaked out. I guess what my question is that according to gurbani, does this stuff really exist, or is it just superstition and unawareness of mental diseases such as schizophrenia (although the psychiatrist in india even claimed that she might be possessed)? If according to gurbani, this 'possession' stuff really does exist, then what kind of path can we recite to overcome our fear, and give us some peace?

Any path applied directly and consistantly will work. You can also try " Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Se Sohung" play it 24/ 7 in her room or in the house.

The soul of your murdered 20 year old cousin is in a lot of pain and needs healing and is calling for help.
