Is there a single (or multiple) publication(s) that present the lives of the 10 gurus.

I would like to understand the order of the gurus and their beliefs and contributions.

I would also like to understand what happened after guru gobind and upto Maharaja Ranjit singh and then after Ranjit Singh.

The best one in English is McCauliffe's (spelling may be off) History of the Sikh Gurus. Though he was English, he immersed himself in it and wrote a very positive account. I'm not sure where the books are available, if someone knows please send the information.
