It will tell you about basics of it. I found this link from khalsapride.com under Sikh Spotings. I am 15 years old and I myself just started wearing dastar few weeks ago. Have you ever looked at any picture of Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Ji Babbar? His turban looks so cool and it is very easy to tie the turban (parna) like his. Here check out his picture

Wahe Guru!!! Thank you very much for sharing this turban with us. Yes, it is a very beautiful turban. This kind of turban is called a "Damala". It is commonly worn by "Nihung Sikhs". These Nihung Sikhs are the army of Guru Gobind SIngh. They are warriors and live very simple lives.

The damala actually is a turban for battle. It has a folded turban placed inside over the top of the head. The reason for this is twofold. The extra padding protects the head from injury of swords and sticks etc. Also, the closing off of the top of the head, this is also the tenth gate, prepares the warrior for death, by giving him fearlessness.

The normal men's turban, has only one thin layer cover of cloth over the top of the head. This is to allows the free flow of radiance to and from tenth gate, the top center of the head where the pituitary gland lies.
