Humans are social. One of the first things to do if you are serious is stop hanging out with other people who do those things. They are not your real friends. Hang with people who are not self destructive.
Another thing is to get too busy to do those things. Do more sports or join clubs or groups that are active, even it they don't seem cool to you. Your ideas about what is cool will change a lot as you grow. Don't let a momentary idea mess you up for your whole life.
Read from an english translation of SGGS. It speaks to your mind directly. Try to set an amount of time, say 30 minutes, then sit and read no matter what. It will help bring the mind under control. Right now your mind is controlling you. That is a problem.
Sometimes cravings are because of nutritional deficiency. Try taking some good quality vitamins (not the cheap kind at the drug store) and eat less sugar.
Pray. Don't discount it's power. Everytime you feel some need, start praying and feel the Guru is right there with you. It's the Guru's job to help you, so make him. Don't be shy. Demand it. You will develop a relationship with him.
This is hard, but you are descended from Guru Gobind Singh. Be a warrior. You can win the day!
