First of all i would like to thank you for this wonderful website, it really helped me.
I am a 23 year old man, new to Sikhism (it has only been 1 year). First I completely adapted the Sikh way of life and then after practicing it for a year i became Sikh. Now i want to take Amrit but the problem is that i am not able to get up at Amritwela, i am really excited and want to become Amritdhari really quick. So should i wait until i get use to of waking up early morning or can i take it right now.
Thanks a lot
Gold Bless you

Sat Nam,
We can only do what our heart tells us to do. There is no reason to take Amrit just because it is available to take. There is no reason to get up in the Amrit Vela unless you really feel that it is your path. It always helps to live the path fully for a while before taking any kind of vows. You need to test yourself out before you truly know who you are and what you are capable of. Sikh path is not an easy one and should not be treated lightly. Taking vows does not make it any easier.
