Summary of Question:	Why Did Sggs Become Everlasting Guru

Sat Sri Akal! I would like to know WHY Guru Gobind Singh Ji commanded that the Guru Granth Sahib be the everlasting guru of the sikhs? I searched but all I got was what he did, not the reasons behind his actions. Can you please help me? -JK

Sat Nam Ji! - Even an enlightened human being has good days and bad days. The Guru Granth Sahib is absolutely unreactive. You can yell at it; you can kick it; you can throw it out the window. . . and it will always tell you the Truth. Always.

Guru Gobind Singh forsaw the ongoing progression of the Kali Yug and knew that a "cult of personality" was all to easy in unenlightened times. He knew that no human could carry the job and so he gave us our beautiful Guru who is unwavering and fixed - unchanging amidst the swirling currents of change that engulf the modern world - a fixed point on the compass of human consciousness - our Pole Star - our Guru - ever constant and True.
