Summary of Question:Women And Khacheras
Category:General Q's from Non-Sikhs

My mom took amrit at summer soltice 2002 ( she is a westerner) and I noticed that she was wearing what looked liked mens boxers. She said there were called katcheras and that they not only protects the thigh bones from cold but also remines one about chastity. I understand that it's required that men wear katcheras, but do all sikh women have to as well? By the way, since taking amrit, her life has changed for the better!

Thank you for your time in answering this question.

Reply:
All amrithdaris should wear their 5K's including the kacheras. There is no differentiation made between the sexes in our religious tenets.
