May I make some suggestions, as when i was a similar age to your son, up to about 17/18 I also suffered migraines. Now I am 22 and they are very rare and very mild, they used to very painful. The worst one I have had left one side of my body num when I was 17, and at other times i used to vomit from the pain. What I found was very simple as a cure was to cut out refined sugar and drink more water:

1/Drink water, plenty of water, most importantly when your son wakes up in the morning, before breakfast make him drink a pint of water and make him drink one when he goes to sleep.
3/Through out the day make sure he does not drink any fizzy, sugary drinks, or fruit juices, make him drink water instead - Give him bottles of water to take to school instead
4/Do not let him eat Sweets/Candy/Crisps/Biscuits - give him FRESH FRUIT instead to snack on
5/For breakfast make sure you give him a wholemeal cereal (not sugary cereals), and wholemeal toast (with honey, not jam)
6/Is he atleast getting 3 hours of exercise a week? if not make him join a martial art club, because there he will get to do muscle-building workouts (pressups/situps/squats) and cardio workout, plus learn self-defense, and most importantly build up mental dicipline, which will decrease how often he get migraines
7/Restrict the time he plays computer games and watches tv to one hour a day max, make him do other activities instead, go outside and play, or make some model

All the best from

(REPLY) Sat Nam. This seems like really good advice! Thank you. SP
