Waheguru ji ka khalsa

Waheguru ji ki fateh!

A question that no one is really able to answer with absolute certainty - when the Guru's got married, did they walk around the fire or flame thing like Hindu's? Someone told me that until the Guru Granth Sahib Jee was put together, they walked around the mool mantar book or something like that.

If the Guru's got married by Hindu traditions isn't that sort of ummmmmmmmm against Sikhi? Walking around a fire or flame doesn't have any meaning. I know this is a hard question to answer, thank-you for any reply.

Please forgive this murakh for saying anything wrong, I make a lot of mistakes.

Waheguru ji ka khalsa,
Waheguru ji ki fateh!!!

Greetings and blessings to you in the Name of God and Guru.

Prior to Guru Ram Das there was no procedure for marriage that was distinctly Sikh. Guru Ram Das wrote the Lanvan for his own wedding with Bibi Bhani. All the Guru's after Guru Ram Das were married with the Lanvan.
Prior to Guru Ram Das, the custom of the times for marriage was followed.
Guru Nanak was married in the Hindu ceremony.
Guru Angad was already married when he came to Guru Nanak. He was a devout Hindu
Guru Amar Das was also a devout Hindu and was married in that tradition
