First of all i'd like to thank the moderators for a job well done. This forum has been an answer to many of my questions. But here's one question which i couldn't find an answer for.

Since sikhi advises against any alteration of our form, is going to the gym OK??
PPL go to the gym for mainly 2 reasons, firstly for looking good with a well toned body and secondly for maintaining good health.

Also, i have long, curly and rough hair. Is there anything which i can use to INHIBIT the growth of hair like some shampoo or lotion. Is there any product with which i can straighten and smoothen out my beard.
thankyou very much in anticipation of ur response

Answer this question. Guru Gobind Singh trained his warriors with strenuous exercise and gatka. Was that against the Sikh rehit? Training your body to function at its highest potential is not going again God...its enhancing his gift to us. It seems to me that sitting in front of the TV or computer, eating high fatty and sugar foods and getting fat is going against our physical form as much as cutting one's hair or shaving one's beard. Embrace the body God gave you and develop it to be strong and healthy so it can serve you ...so you can better serve others.

As far as your hair, do you oil it regularly? Keep it tied up or atleasat braided to contain it. Don't try to inhibit its growth. You just need to take good care of it. Wash it often and use conditioner. Blessings. GTKK

Quick addition. Gatka did not exist at the time of Guru Gobind Singh. The martial art form was Chutka. DSK
