WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

Khalsa Ji...i've noticed that u'r forum lays stress on Japji Sahib more than ANY other Bani...please explain...also please tell me if the following order of doing the Banis is correct when we are doing all the 7 Banis in one slot (since i just read on u'r forum that one must do Anand Sahib in the end):

Japji
Shabad Hazaare
Jaap
Tav Prasad Swaiyye
Rehras
Sohila
Anand...followed by Ardas

Dear One:

Sat Siri Akaal. I think the stress on Japji Sahib is because it indeed lays out the essence of the entire Siri Guru Granth Sahib. For many Sikhs, it is probably the only bani they know by heart, or is the only bani they know at all,-- which is to say it is the best-known of the daily banis. My personal experience of its importance: one day I realized I had memorized Japji, but since I hadn't yet adopted Sikhi, I had to ask myself when this occurred! Yes, I had been practicing it, but not daily... I tell people that Japji Sahib memorized me, not the other way around! All the bani are special, without question. There is so much in Japji that tells us about our lives and our path that we moderators find it useful to quote Japji over the other banis.

Typically, Rehiras is followed by an Ardas. Five pauris of Anand Sahib are part of Rehiras Sahib, but if you are going to say whole Anand Sahib, usually it is done before Rehiras (although you could certainly say the whole Anand Sahib as part of Rehiras if you felt so inclined).

God bless you to keep up!

The morning banis:

Shabad Hazaare
Jaap Sahib
Tav Prasad Swaiye
Benti Chaupai
Anand Sahib (all 40 pauris)

The evening banis:
Rehraas Sahib (including the entire Benti Chaupai and the first 5 pauris of Anand Sahib)
Kirtan Sohila

Ardas may be included as well.
