Waheguru ji ki fateh

I have heard many explanations to the holiday "rakhi". my question is is it a hindu ritual or is itjust indian culture? and if it is a hindu ritual, is it against our rehat to perform this holiday?

Yes, Rakhri is a Hindu holiday and also it is part of the Indian Culture. Many Sikhs in India celebrate it. The Rehat does not expect Sikhs to celebrate this ritual, but to my knowledge, does not caution against doing so either. It is up to the individual and as long as they know that this is just a ritual or 'for fun' occassion or use it to strengthen the connection with their brother or sister, there is nothing wrong in celebrating it.
