wahaeguru ji ka khalsa

wahaeguru ji ki fateh

i am a 14 year old sikh female from the U.K
i was just wondering how you can call the matrimonial service a SIKH one, when most of the ppl who use its facilities cut their hair/shave.

AM i wrong when i say sikh ppl do not cut their hair?

What upsets me is sikhnet is for sikhs and it discrimnates turbaned sikhs!

If i have made a mistake in anything that has offended someone please forgive me
as i am only a sewadar,i just wanted to make my thoughts known.

urs faithfully...
A Kaur

Dear A. Kaur
Sat Siri Akaal. Sikhnet is a SERVICE we provide. We do not police it so that only observant Sikhs use the site. We are hardly going to tell non-observant Sikhs not to post on the matrimonial section. Even if we wanted to, we could not control it practically!!! We are in no technical or practical positions to discriminate, nor do we want to because Sikhnet is a service for anyone who wants to use it, including non-Sikhs!

If you are not seeing turbaned Sikhs on the matrimonial section of the site, it means they are not identifying as turbaned, or that turbaned Sikhs are not looking for spouses. Therer are many who identify as Sikh, but do not look Sikh. Technically speaking, in Guru's time, GurSikhs kept the form of a Sikh, and did not call themselves Gursikhs if they were cleanshaven or non-turbaned.

Guru rakha,
