Summary of Question:Wearing A Kara
Category:General Q's from Non-Sikhs

Although I am not a Sikh, there are many tenets of the faith to which I subscribe.

I would like to wear a kara, and recently purchased one on line. My problem is that I cannot seem to get it on over my hand. Do they come in different sizes?
Or, is there 'trick' to putting it on?
Thank you ever so much.

Yes, they DO come in different sizes, from tiny baby ones to large heavy steel ones. You would measure the in inches or centimeters the widest part of your fist. Unclear if the Web site you bought it from sells different sizes. They would need to measure the inside circumference of the kara.

Depending on how tight the fit is, you could try putting oil or soap on your hand/the kara and see if that helps. Also, soak your hand in warm water to 'loosen' it up. If you are young and think your WRIST will expand a lot before you finish growing, then you do not want to get a kara that is too tight.

Hope this helps.
