BJP demands removal of Sant Bhindrawale's portrait from Sikh Museum in Golden Temple

    AMRITSAR: All India BJP Secretary and Incharge for Punjab Affairs Balbir Punj Saturday demanded removal of portait of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawala from Sikh Museum in Golden Temple here and said that it doesn't match the character of Golden Temple.

    Addressing the media persons here Saturday Punj said that BJP had never supported putting up Sant Bhindrawala's portrait in Goldent Temple. He was replying to question put by journalists.

    He condemned Raj Thakrey chief of 'Maharashtra Navanirman Sena' keray and described his politics dirty game which is allegedly being supported by the Congress.

    Punj said that Raj Thackery was playing dirty game and Sonia Gandhi as well as here son Rahul Gnadhi clandestinely supporting Thackeray as a reason Rahul and Sonia so far did not utter even a single word against Raj Thackeray.

    In February 2008, a row erupted in Mumbai after Thackeray's controversial remarks about the migrant population from the north Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Later, his party's activists clashed with activists of the Samajwadi Party, a regional party from Uttar Pradesh.

    Lashing out at Congress, Punj said that game played by Raj Thackeray, the same game was played during the peak days of militancy in Punjab and that time then Prime Minsiter Indra Gandhi never spoke agaisnt the salin militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala.

    Punj said that BJP and SAD (Badal) would hold big rally in Delhi on February 26 agaisnt the biased and indifferent attitude of Congress Governemnt towards Punjab.

    Talking about the present plight of farmers of Punjab Punj said that BJP strongly demanded from the Union Government that during the 2008 -2009 budget Union Financae Minsiter should announce to write off the farmer's loan in one go particualry the loan below of Rs. 50,000/-. He said that it would extend great relief to the debt ridden farmers and this execrise would certainly stop the farmers to commitd suicide .

    Punj said that BJP also deamnd special pacakge for sulking industry of Punjab from Union Government the same which was extended to Himachal Pardesh, Jammu and Kashmir.
