Gurdwara is literally, the Sikh place of worship.

"Guru" is 'what takes us from darkness to light'......(a body of knowlege or experience beyond ourselves, that gives us transformation)

"Wara" is: door

"Gurdwara" is 'the door to the place that give us a transformational experience of our self'
