Sat Siri Akaal. I have always understood Divali to be a holiday far older than Sikhi. But it is so widely celebrated in India, it is not unlike Christmas celebrations in the USA, where a whole lot of people celebrate Christmas but are not, in their minds, celebrating the birth of Christ. So, Divali cannot be said to be a SIKH gurpurb, but it is celebrated by Sikhs. That is the difference.
