I just want to say that on the Q&A, whenever someone commits a sin, for example pre marital sex, you say they should forgive themselves before God will forgive them. Does that mean it's ok tohave pre marital sex as long as we forgive ourselves. Just a question

Do you honestly think that the person who answered your question in that way really meant that as long as we just forgive ourselves we can do what ever we want? As Sikhs we believe in karma...everything you do has a consequence. If you do something that will hurt someone physically, emotionally or spiritually, there will be a consequence. If you have sex before marriage there will be a consequence. I can't tell you what that will be, but there will be a result. Perhpas the girl will get pregnant, trust will break, an unhealthy attachment will occur, some one will get hurt, there will be marriage, parents will find out, you'll get herpes, you might feel badly about your self - the possibilities are innumerable. Instead of just reacting from emotion, desire and ego, think about the possible consequences. Ask yourself if this action follows with my character values. Its all about consciousness. We meditate and read Bani so that our consciousness will be more neutral and elevated (the upper chakras working)
, so that our earthly lives can reflect that consciousness. Now you sit and meditate a moment. What's in your consciousness? What are your character values. And still with all consciousness and sincerety, we make mistakes...that is the time to forgive yourself and evaluate how you can transform your life, so it will not happen again. Everyone makes mistakes. A conscious person learns from their mistakes and makes sure they don't make the same one twice. With consciousness, all the answers to our questions are inside. Yours are there too. GTKK
