In the last little while, I've noticed that a lot of people arent what they seem to be, they act like theyre totally into sikhi at some place, while at other times, they act like the biggest manmukhs, and its so disheartening to see this, a lot of people who i looked up to as youth role models, have let me down later on, because of some act of manmat they engage in, such as dating or whatever else. And it breaks my heart to see it, and i feel slightly depressed when it happens, how could i help myself?

Sat Siri Akal, ji.

It is hard growing up because we find out that we don't live in an ideal world and people do not always act as they should. Or even act they way they tell you that YOU should act. It can be disheartening, I agree. There's a beautiful shabad with the lines, "Jo jo deesai, so so rogee. Rog rehit mayraa satgur jogee." (Pardon if my spelling is incorrect.) It means, "Wherever I look, that person suffers from the disease of ego. Only my perfect True Guru is the yogi who does not suffer from this disease." So-we are all just human, with egos, striving to awaken to the God within us. And life needs to be understood in this light. The only people who have no egos are the rare persons whom the Guru, Himself, has chosen to liberate. Otherwise, we are all bouncing back and forth between ego and egolessness. Which is fine. That's the process for awakening. The only way to know what ego is and what to let go of is to bang your head against it, if that makes sense. So go to the Guru because the Guru has no ego and His words and love will never let you down. And don't depend on other people to be the example - depend on yourself to be the example. A wise man once told me, "When you feel there is no hope-be a hope." What you want to see in the world - become that, yourself, and you will be the inspiration for others.

God bless.
