Nanki (also spelled Nanaki)is a feminine variation on the word Nanak. It is common in Indian culture to name one's first child after someone in the mother's family (a maternal name), and so Nanak was named for someone in his mother's side. The roots of the word Nanak have an original meaning of "One" or "Undivided."
