WJKK WJKF!

i'd just like to make a point about this weeks poll qs. the majority is saying that it is ok for a sikh to marry a non-sikh. but who are we actually talking about here, amritdharis or just general 'sikhs' (punjabis)?
for an amritdhari 2 marry a non-sikh is not right, when a amritdhari couple gets married they are, then to develop, to become 'one soul in two bodies' but if married to a non-sikh then there isnt that gursikhi bond because that non-sikh partner may not be interested in sikhi or in naam simran, basically there wont be that common goal there, of reaching god. both partners, through their one soul, through girist and gursikhi jeevan have to understand their level of spirituality. however a non-sikh is a non-sikh because he/she has no interest or has chosen not to be a part of spirituality or religion.

but if the question is about race, in that two amritdharis but of different race shoudln't get married, then i think that is wrong. as long as both partners are amritdhari, their race doesn't matter,at all. an asian amritdhari can marry a white amritdhari. but what is wrong is if one is amritdhari and marry's a non-sikh whether asian, white or any other race. because this non-sikh may be involved in drinking alcohol, eating meat etc. so there is no common ground in terms of the purpose in life (to reach and reunite with waheguru) and spirituality.

you cant be one soul if you have completely two different views on life and purpose of life and god.

REPLY: Your comments above make sense to me -- (except for your last line, since some people may be "spiritual" or part of some other religion, even if they are not Sikhs.) Marriage is, at best, a challenging path, but when you add to the equation a difference of spiritual/religious conviction -- well, that's adds another cause for friction - especially when there are children. Anyway, you aren't really asking a question are you? Thanks for your point of view. Blessings, SP

sorry if i offended anyone,

bhul chuk maaf karna ji.

WJKK WJKF!!!
