Waheguruji Ka Khalsa,Waheguruji Ki Fateh!I just read a question and an answer regarding 'Amritvela'. I mean no offense but I just wanted to make a slight correction.Amritvela starts after 12.00 (midnight)and continues until the first rays of the sun.The earlier you awaken during the Amritvela ,bathe and do Simran the more benefit of Simran you obtain. It is better to awaken and bathe and then do Simran,as opposed to keeping awake through midnight and doing Simran.By keeping awake through the night and into Amritvela ,bathing and doing Simran, your simran will bear the flowers of Simran but awakening early during the Amritvela ,taking a bath and doing Simran, your Simran will essentially bear the "FRUIT" of meditation. The maximum benefit is obtained before 4am since it is the most diffcult time to awaken and doing simran as the sleep is the deepest during earlier hours of Amritvela.

I honestly did not want to offend anyone but could not keep myself from responding .I hope you make the correction.Thank you.
Sat Sri Akal.

This is one overzealous interpretation. Amrit Vela is simply the fist "watch" of the day...2 1/2 hours before the sun rises....1/10 of your day.
