Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa

Wahe Guru Ji Ke Fateh,
I would like to share some useful information with you at Sikhnet. Sikhisim has nothing to do with YOGA and to change the religion to make it the way you believe is right or "cool" or "the voge" is a sin. In Sikhisim it never said that we had to be doing Yoga to achieve God and peace in the mind. All that is writen is that we must do Nam simeran with sincerity, love, and devotion. I just read this as I was doing Sukhmani Sahib the Patt.

214. Useless practices : Muttering of spells, performing acts of YOGA and mere reading of religious books confer no spirtuals benefits. These are useless ways. The only True way is to worship God and to remember His Name with devotion (III.1) Pg. 296 Rites Rituals etc.

Sat Siri Akaal. You are right. Sikhi does NOT require yoga as part of its practice or discipline. However, be careful here. Guruji's disapproval of yoga was not of the yogic teachings, but of the yogis themselves, who did NOT do Naam Simran, and who thought that ascetic practices themselves could liberate a person or grant them the grace of the Naam. A thorough reading of Sidh Gosht in Ramkali Raag in SGGS will expand on what you read in Sukhmani.
Guru rakha,
